Aerotermia Heating
and Cooling in Valencia

Why own a heating system that idles all summer and an air conditioner that sleeps all winter? A reversible aerotermia unit does both jobs from the same box on the terrace: warm water to your fancoils or ducts in January, chilled water and drier air in August, hot showers all the while. We design and install these systems across Valencia's districts — fixed written quote up front, 2-year workmanship warranty behind it.

Climatización con Aerotermia

One Thermostat for
January and August

Valencia's calendar is hard on single-purpose machines. A gas boiler earns its keep for a few cold months and then sits idle; splits do the opposite. A reversible air-to-water system spreads one investment across the whole year — the compressor that warmed the bedroom in January is the same one drying out the salón in August.

Our job is matching that machine to your rooms: choosing between fancoils and ducted distribution, calculating summer moisture as carefully as winter heat, and setting up controls your household will actually use. One survey, one design, one written price.

  • Reversible heating-and-cooling design
  • Fancoil or ducted distribution
  • Room-by-room load calculation
  • Summer dehumidification planning
  • Condensate drainage in cooling mode
  • Zoned control per room or floor
  • Optional ACS cylinder integration
  • Dedicated, certified electrics
  • Seasonal changeover walkthrough

How a Frío-Calor Installation Works

Six Steps to a Home That
Ignores the Forecast

A system that must win in two opposite seasons deserves a design process that respects both — here's how we get from first visit to a home that no longer checks the weather app with dread.

Step 1

Two-Season
Survey

We map how each room gains heat in summer and loses it in winter — sun, walls, windows.

Step 2

Options
on Paper

Fancoil and ducted layouts compared, with one fixed written price for the version you pick.

Step 3

Outdoor
Unit Set

The reversible unit mounted where noise, airflow and the comunidad all approve.

Step 4

Fancoils or
Ducts In

Emitters installed and connected, condensate drains run discreetly to safe outlets.

Step 5

Zones &
Controls

Thermostats, zone valves and the app configured around how you actually live.

Step 6

Summer &
Winter Test

Both modes commissioned before handover, so the first heatwave holds no surprises.

One Machine, Two Jobs

How One Outdoor Unit Heats January and Cools August

The Circuit Simply Runs in Reverse

An air-to-water heat pump is a heat mover, and movers work in both directions. In winter it concentrates warmth from outdoor air — plentiful even on a Valencian cold snap — and delivers it indoors through water. Come summer, a valve flips the cycle: heat is collected from your rooms and released outside, and the same water loop runs cold. You own one machine, one warranty, one maintenance schedule; the seasons share it.

  • Reversible heating and cooling cycle
  • One outdoor unit, one water loop
  • Fancoil or ducted air delivery
  • Dehumidification built into cooling
  • ACS cylinder on the same system
  • Temperature control by room or zone
  • App control from wherever you are
  • At home in Valencia's mild climate
Who You're Hiring

A Team That Designs for
August and January at Once

Plenty of installers size for winter and hope summer works out. We calculate both seasons — heat load and cooling load, temperature and humidity — because the same equipment has to win in each. More arithmetic up front, fewer complaints in a heatwave.

  • Both seasons load-calculated, never guessed
  • A fixed written price before a tool comes out
  • Fancoils and ducts both offered, honestly priced
  • Condensate routes solved before, not after
  • Outdoor units sited to keep the comunidad happy
  • Quiet night settings configured for bedrooms
  • Full changeover demonstration at handover
  • Two years of written cover on the workmanship

The Running-Cost Question

One Bill Instead of Gas Plus a Wall of Splits

Why Consolidating Makes Financial Sense Here

The typical Valencia flat pays for comfort twice: a gas caldera with its standing charge for winter, and a collection of splits sipping electricity all summer. Aerotermia collapses that into a single efficient system — heat pumps commonly deliver three to four units of heating or cooling per unit of electricity, and cancelling the gas contract removes a fixed cost that ticks over even in months when you burn nothing. Add photovoltaics later and the same machine becomes the biggest consumer of your cheapest energy.

  • Three to four kWh out per kWh in, typically
  • No gas standing charge left to pay
  • One maintenance schedule, not two
  • Fewer machines hanging on the façade
  • Ready to team up with photovoltaics
  • Heating and cooling share the investment
  • Open subsidies checked with your quote
  • Old splits and boiler cleared away

Every Factor, Itemised

A seventh-floor flat with two fancoils and a townhouse ducting six rooms sit at opposite ends of the same service. These are the variables doing the real work in your figure — and you'll see each of them itemised in the written quote before anything is ordered.

Heating and Cooling Across Valencia's Districts

City Flats Are Our Home Turf

City work sets our daily rhythm: mornings in Quatre Carreres flats near the City of Arts and Sciences, afternoons in Camins al Grau towers where the outdoor unit shares a terrace with the washing line. In Poblats Marítims the sea keeps summers sticky, so cooling capacity and dehumidification get extra attention in the design. Across the northern and western districts — Benicalap, Rascanya, L'Olivereta — and out through Mislata and Xirivella, the pattern repeats: compact flats, comunidad rules to respect, and owners tired of feeding two separate systems.

Local Insight

Summer Comfort Here Is Measured in Humidity, Not Just Degrees

Valencia's summer problem isn't really the thermometer — the low thirties are survivable — it's the moisture that rolls in off the Mediterranean and parks over the city for weeks. That's why cooling design here is as much about removing water from the air as lowering degrees: a coil wringing humidity out of a room can make it feel several degrees cooler than the reading admits. When we size a heating-and-cooling system for a flat in Poblats Marítims or Camins al Grau, the latent load — the wet half of summer — gets its own line in the calculation.

Heating & Cooling
Valencia FAQ

Can one aerotermia system really heat and cool the same home?

Yes — that is the design, not a trick. The refrigerant circuit is reversible: in winter it moves heat from outside air into your water circuit, in summer it runs the other way and chills that water instead. Same outdoor unit, same pipes, opposite direction.

+

Should I choose fancoils or a ducted system?

Fancoils suit room-by-room control and homes without false ceilings; ducts disappear completely but need ceiling voids and a bit more building work. In practice the flat itself usually decides — during the survey we check ceiling heights and where a discreet unit could live, then show you both options priced.

+

How does aerotermia cope with Valencia's humid summers?

Better than people expect, because water-based cooling naturally dehumidifies: as air passes over the cold coil, moisture condenses out and drains away. On a sticky August evening that drying effect is half the comfort — 26 degrees with low humidity feels better than 24 degrees in a swamp.

+

Is it cheaper than running gas heating plus air conditioning?

For most homes the logic is strong. A modern heat pump typically returns three to four kilowatt-hours of heating or cooling for each one it consumes, and you maintain one system instead of two — one service visit, one set of filters, no gas contract ticking over in the background. We talk you through the comparison for your actual home rather than quoting averages.

+

Can different rooms be set to different temperatures?

Yes. Each fancoil can have its own control, and ducted systems can be split into zones with motorised dampers. Bedrooms at 21, the home office at 23, the guest room off entirely — zoning is decided at design stage, so tell us how your household really lives.

+

What happens in spring and autumn — am I switching modes constantly?

No. The changeover between heating and cooling is a setting, not a ritual — one tap in the app or on the controller. Many Valencia homes coast through weeks of spring and autumn with the system barely working at all, which is exactly what mild seasons should cost.

+

Does cooling mode affect my hot water?

No — ACS always takes priority. When the tank needs a top-up the system briefly switches to water heating, finishes the job in minutes, then returns to cooling. You would only notice if you happened to be watching the control screen at the time.

+

Which parts of Valencia do you cover?

All of the city — we are regularly in Quatre Carreres, Camins al Grau, Poblats Marítims, Jesús, Rascanya, Benicalap, L'Olivereta and Pla del Real — plus Torrent, Xirivella and Mislata just outside. Elsewhere in the metro area, ask: the answer is usually yes.
