Aerotermia with Solar Panels
in Valencia

On this coast the sun shows up for work around 300 days a year — the same days your heat pump wants cheap electricity. We install aerotermia systems built to run alongside placas solares: the heat pump does its heavy lifting at midday, banks that energy in a well-sized hot water cylinder, and your evening showers ride on afternoon sunshine. Your Roof Makes the Power,
Your Heat Pump Spends It Well

A heat pump is the biggest single electricity consumer you'll ever be glad to own — and that's exactly why it belongs next to fotovoltaica. Every kilowatt your panels harvest at noon can leave the meter untouched and come back at nine in the evening as a hot shower or a pre-warmed living room. We handle the aerotermia half of that partnership end to end, and we're straightforward about the boundary: the panels themselves are your solar installer's craft. What we own is making the two sides communicate — sizing, signals and schedules — so the system behaves like one appliance, not two strangers sharing a fuse box.

  • Consumption and sun-exposure survey

How a Solar-Assisted Installation Works

From Sunny Roof to Warm Water
in Six Steps

Solar-assisted aerotermia fails when it's treated as two separate projects bolted together at the end. Ours starts by mapping when your roof produces and when your household consumes — then every piece of hardware is chosen to close that gap.

Step 1

Sun &
Consumption Survey

We study your roof, your bills and your PV plans — existing or future — before anything gets sized.

Step 2

Solar-Ready Design
& Written Price

A system drawn around self-consumption, with one fixed figure for the whole aerotermia scope.

Step 3

Installer
Coordination

We sync details with your PV company — inverter signals, metering, who does what and when.

Step 4

Heat Pump
& Storage Cylinder

Outdoor unit, hydraulic module and a tank generous enough to bank the midday surplus.

Step 5

Control
Integration

SG-Ready inputs, PV signals or timers wired and configured so the sun sets the schedule.

Step 6

Commissioning
& Sun Test

We verify the midday-run logic on a real sunny day and hand over the app fully configured.

Why This Pairing Works

Aerotermia y Fotovoltaica: A Match Made on the Mediterranean

Your Two Biggest Energy Decisions, One Power Source

Valencia's pitch to solar owners is simple: the province banks roughly three hundred sunny days a year, and a heat pump is the rare appliance hungry enough to use that harvest properly. Heating, cooling and hot water make up the largest energy lines in most households — put them on the roof's payroll and the export meter stops being the place where your sunshine goes to be undervalued.

  • Heating, cooling and ACS on home-made power
  • Midday PV surplus becomes evening hot water
  • Cooling season lines up exactly with peak sun
  • SG-Ready inputs on most modern units
  • The cylinder stores heat — no lithium required
  • Lower grid bills without changing habits
  • Honest night-time reality: the grid still helps
  • Ready for a battery or EV charger later
Why Choose Square Meter Air?

Integration Is a Skill,
Not an Accessory

Plenty of heat pumps sit metres from solar panels without ever exchanging a word. Getting genuine self-consumption takes deliberate design — and that's the part we bring.

  • We size the heat pump for the house, then tune it for the sun
  • Honest scope: we do the aerotermia, your PV firm does the panels
  • Control integration tested on a live sunny day, not just wired
  • Cylinders sized to bank midday energy for the evening
  • One fixed written price for the full aerotermia scope
  • Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Vaillant and more fitted
  • Every schedule and setting explained in plain English
  • 2-year written workmanship warranty on the installation

Making the Sun Do the Work

Self-Consumption with a Heat Pump: Timing Is Everything

The Heat Pump That Works the Day Shift

Self-consumption is a timing game. Panels peak at midday; families consume at dawn and dusk. The fix isn't more hardware — it's teaching the heat pump to work the day shift: get the cylinder properly hot at one o'clock, nudge the house warm by five, and let stored heat carry the evening. We build those routines into the commissioning and show you exactly how to adjust them as the seasons turn.

  • Hot water made between late morning and mid-afternoon
  • House pre-warmed before the sun drops
  • Raised tank setpoints to bank extra energy
  • PV-signal or timer control, set at commissioning
  • Underfloor slabs used as a second heat store
  • App scheduling you can actually understand
  • Sensible fallback settings for cloudy weeks
  • Seasonal tweaks at your annual service

Where the Sun Works Hardest

Aerotermia and Solar in the Towns West of Valencia

Campo Roofs, Long Days, Short Drives

The best solar-plus-aerotermia country sits west of the city, out where the huerta gives way to campo along the A-3: detached houses in Chiva, Cheste and Buñol with wide roofs, few tall neighbours and plot enough for a sensibly placed outdoor unit. We fit heat pumps around new and existing PV in the urbanisations of Montserrat, Turís and Godelleta, and along the Túria valley through Vilamarxant, Pedralba and Riba-roja de Túria — all an easy run from our Torrent base. City homes with rooftop rights are welcome too.

Local Insight

Cooling Season Is Solar's Easiest Win in Valencia

Everyone plans PV-plus-heat-pump around winter heating, but the cleanest overlap is actually August: solar production peaks in exactly the hours cooling demand does, so an aerotermia system cooling through fan coils or a radiant floor runs almost entirely off the roof. Winter takes more cunning — production happens at midday while comfort is wanted at eight in the evening — which is why we oversize the ACS cylinder and pre-heat the house through the early afternoon. Treat the building itself as storage, and a Valencian winter day mostly fits inside a sunny one.

Aerotermia + Solar Panels
Valencia FAQ

Do you install the solar panels yourselves?

No, and we think that honesty matters: we're heat pump specialists, not roofers. We design and install the aerotermia side, coordinate closely with your chosen solar installer — or introduce you to local firms we've worked alongside — and take responsibility for making both systems operate as one.

+

How does a heat pump save money with solar panels?

By running when the roof is producing. We schedule the heavy work — hot water heating, pre-warming or pre-cooling the house — into the midday window, so kilowatts that would be exported for very little instead become comfort you'd otherwise buy at evening rates.

+

What happens at night or during a cloudy week?

The system simply draws from the grid, and it's no drama: even on grid power an air-to-water heat pump typically returns three to four kilowatt-hours of heat per one of electricity. Solar improves the economics; it isn't a condition for them.

+

Do I need a home battery for this to work?

No. Your hot water cylinder is the battery — it stores midday energy as heat and gives it back as evening showers, at a fraction of what lithium storage costs. A battery can be added later if you want to cover lighting and appliances too.

+

Can you connect a heat pump to solar panels I already have?

Yes, that's one of our most common jobs in the campo towns. Most current units accept an SG-Ready or PV-surplus signal from the inverter; where yours doesn't, well-set timers achieve most of the benefit. We configure it all at commissioning.

+

How big should my solar array be for aerotermia?

There's no universal number — it depends on your home's heat demand, roof orientation and what else the house runs. During the survey we estimate the heat pump's consumption profile and hand that to your solar installer, so the array is sized on data rather than guesswork.

+

Which areas do you cover for solar-assisted aerotermia?

Mainly the sunny towns west of Valencia — Chiva, Cheste, Buñol, Turís, Montserrat, Godelleta, Vilamarxant, Pedralba and Riba-roja de Túria — plus Valencia city itself. If your village isn't on the list, message us; the vans range widely.

+

Got Sun? Got a Roof?
Let's Add Aerotermia

Message us a photo of your roof — or your inverter, if the panels are already up — plus your rough floor area and how your household uses hot water. That's enough for us to sketch a solar-ready system and book a free survey anywhere between Valencia and the campo towns.
